Diversion
I have a new hobby! I’ve always loved writing so I have decided to create a small sideline in writing some literature! It won’t be anything too dramatic (I think!), and I’ll still being running my organic food business (unless I become the next JK Rowling anyway!) and pursuing my other hobbies.
Anyway, here’s an exclusive snippet!
Chapter 1 – The mysterious thing…
The middle-aged woman walked into the house she had bought in the past. Her cats greeted her immediately, and she felt good about that. She went to the fridge and pulled out an organic Greek yoghurt, which she soon began to eat.
She thought about experiences and feelings now gone as she sampled the 2% fat treat – an impulse purchase she wasn’t sure was worthwhile or not.
It had been five months since he left, but now he was walking into the house again. She had forgotten to change the locks, and he had forgotten to throw away his key.
“Joyce,” he said, placing his key on the table they had bought together at a discount price from a friend.
“Matthias.”
Joyce placed her yoghurt down carefully in order to avoid unwanted stains, and her cats watched before turn away to do the things cats down.
“I had to find you,” he said, holding out a collection of unopened envelopes. “Bills. Seems like we’ll be forever paying…”
Matthias attempted a wry smile but it looked like a frown. Joyce took the envelopes and thought about when they had first met. It was really nice.
A bit of a work in progress, but I think it’s a step in the right direction! At least, it’ll certainly help me keep my mind off business. Who knows, it could even help with the product descriptions for the new yoghurts I’m selling. They’re from Greece!
